Dear Highlander Families:
We hope that the spring semester is off to a strong start. BHS faculty and staff will be holding our annual Curriculum Exploration Night for rising FRESHMEN (Class of 2027), rising SOPHOMORES (Class of 2026), rising JUNIORS (Class of 2025), and rising SENIORS (Class of 2024) on February 23, 2023 from 6:30 PM -8:30 PM. When arriving, please plan to enter the School either via the South Lot (Pool) entrance or the Central Lot (non-Auditorium or Auditorium) entrances. An important presentation titled “The INs and OUTs of the 2023-2024 Academic School Year” will be made from 6:30 PM to 6:50 PM in the BHS Auditorium. Following this, you will be free to explore the various content areas, curricular presentations, and career opportunities around the school. We will run five 15 minute rotations so you will have the opportunity to see multiple sessions throughout the evening. During the time outside of these presentations, you are encouraged to discuss course levels with BHS faculty, get a sense of elective course options, and to chat with military recruiters, and representatives from Steel Center. Though students will not have final schedules yet, they should have a sense of which classes they are planning for next year (Course Requests are due by the end of the day on Friday, February 24, 2023). Also, feel free to pop into any of the teachers’ rooms to discuss any of the classes taught in their departments. They are great experts in advising you on steps your child should be taking at BHS and beyond! |
